Alex 2008Our Founding Spiritual Director is Reverend Alex Escudero, who was ordained by Centers for Spiritual Living in 2013. She has been a licensed New Thought Practitioner since 1999 and has lived in DC and the DC area for most of her life. Reverend Alex is also a member of the Leadership Council. Deborah Cummings-Thomas is the Secretary of our Leadership Council. She is from Baltimore, MD and has two adult children. Deborah began her Religious Science studies in 2008 at Spiritual Empowerment Center in Baltimore, and has since become a Reiki Practitioner, become certified as an Infinite Possibilities Coach with Mike Dooley and officiated over 300 same-sex wedding ceremonies in the District of Columbia.
During the day, Deborah works as a programs analyst within the Population Health Department of a Federally Qualified Health Center, developing and implementing the programs that are extensions of their clinics and reporting on the outcomes, and in her spare time, she is an aspiring author and artist.
Deborah says her mission in life is, "To shine as brilliantly as the brightest star, and sprinkle sparkle into the lives of others."
Deletta Gillespie is our Music Director. She performs regularly in the DMV with several bands. She uses her talents to not only entertain, but to create awareness about causes close to her heart. She has toured as a sound healing artist with the Monument Quilt, a traveling art display that provides a public healing space for survivors of sexual and domestic violence. She also performs in ICU's and at nursing homes and assisted living facilities as a therapeutic musician. Deletta is a published author and an adjunct professor teaching history, performance and performance theory courses.
