This Sunday, we shall receive an ENCOURAGEMENT from associate minister Raymont Anderson.

Rev. Dr. Raymont Anderson

Iyanla Vanzant often refers to Intimacy as Into Me I See.. borrowing her phraseology, this Sunday Rev. Dr. Ray invites us into the awareness that it is precisely when we sit with the Beloved that we are, that we then are able to develop the closeness, the friendship, and the true love of being with the Self same Beloved of our own Being as it shows up in, with, and as another.

Eugene HoldenOn Sunday, we shall receive an ENCOURAGEMENT from Licensed Practitioner and Life Coach Eugene Holden. Eugene loves life! His passions run deep and wide–from the Chinese Martial Arts and Tai Chi Chuan, to writing the monthly affirmations for the Science of Mind magazine, to playing and singing music weekly. With a child-like spirit, Eugene dives into life face first, laughing all the way. His purpose drives him; his love of prayer guides him. Eugene is a deeply intuitive spiritual counselor and life coach with a knack for helping others awaken to their own divinity within. When asked about his work in the world, he says, “I’m here to help facilitate the process.”

Eugene will facilitate a Listening from Love dialog at the Center on issues of diversity and inclusion. We’ll be engaging in highly interactive activities around the following questions:
How do you feel about the race relationships in your community?
• Are you in touch with the feelings that recent broadcasts and news items have brought to
your awareness?
• What have you noticed about yourself through your reactions to these recent events?
• Have you discovered some unforgiveness that you have?
• Did you think you had resolved issues only to have certain feelings triggered? Can you
give examples of this?
• Can you see more love and justice showing up in your world?
• What would it take?
• If I had my way, what would justice, equality and fairness look like in my world?
• What’s my part in this?
• What gifts do I have to offer?
• What am I willing to become?
All are welcome! This is being done on a LOVE OFFERING basis (donations are requested and not required). From 2-5 p.m. at 7059 Blair Rd. NW. Metro: Takoma. Free parking.

This Sunday, we shall receive an ENCOURAGEMENT from Licensed Practitioner Dianne Stewart Hamlin.

Dianne Stewart Hamlin

“Life provides us with a series of opportunities to live to grow, to prosper. Our choices yield our results as we continuously create the life that we desire. The key is that we have to choose when the opportunity is present as opportunities come and go. When we choose, then we nurture and protect. We engage completely and we allow ourselves to fully experience that which we choose. This is true whether we actively choose to experience a specific thing or we choose to let it past us without engaging. This is done consciously or unconsciously. Either way, the results of our choices is what we get to live. This is a daunting concept for many as it puts the state of our lives squarely in our hands. We become aware of the fact that it is up to us, not the economy, our exes, our currents, our boss, our families, or anyone else, it is simply, completely, and totally up to us. When we accept this truth we can then begin to truly live our lives fully, wholly and completely. Then we begin to prosper and we can begin to truly live the lives that we desire.”

By What Fruit Are You Known?

Dear Friend in Spirit,
Here is our newsletter from the week of September 11-17

We received an ENCOURAGEMENT from our Associate Minister Rev. Dr. Raymont Anderson.

Rev. Dr. Raymont Anderson

In his words, “In his words:
There is a good deal of talk in the realm of Abundance, Prosperity, Wealth, and Affluence as it pertains to money but it certainly seems that we forget that true wealth, prosperity, and abundance demonstrates in all areas of our lives. If it is true that we reap as we have sown, why do we not look more intently at what we are sowing? Are we letting our seeds fall onto the side of the road to be eaten by birds? Are we letting our seeds be scorched because they were on rocky land? Are we letting them be choked out by thorns? Or are we planting them in rich and fertile soil where they grow up, and produce a crop bearing thirty-fold, another sixtyfold, and another a hundredfold? Are we invested in the work, using our talents wisely? Are we willing to go the extra mile that Walking the Walk of the Divine requires?”

HIGH NOTES with LEA: Innie or Outie?

Innie or Outie… not that 🙂

Yesterday, Rev Alex spoke about Belonging and Becoming. She asked each of us whether we are introverts or extroverts by nature. As she pointed out, there are elements of both in all of us. One part always looks within to become more of what Spirit calls us to be. The other part of us reaches out to share, acknowledge, enjoy and learn from our unity with the rest of Life.

Here is a recording of one of the songs I shared during the service. The other was a chant called “Greater Good of All” by David Roth. Everyone sang beautifully! Check out the CSL-DC FB page for a taste (captured by Dianne 🙂

See you all again on November 27, if not before.  Have a creepy Halloween and a warm Thanksgiving.

In the meantime, SUBSCRIBE to this blog to keep abreast of what’s happening at the Center and for more High Notes. Also, feel free to swing by my website: www.thisisLEA.com

Becoming & Belonging

lea2016with-guitarDear Friend in Spirit –

Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? My ENCOURAGEMENT this Sunday, October 16, will explore our need to become more, which is often an inner journey, and also to belong, which is more of an outer journey.

We are delighted to welcome back Lea as our musical inspiration.

A silent meditation is held before service from 10 to 10:45. All are welcome!

This SATURDAY, October 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., New Thought Practitioner Heather Jones will facilitate a workshop on the POWER OF PRAYER. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn an amazing tool for living a Love-centered life.

The Center offers this workshop as a gift to the world… and we welcome any donations that come from your heart. Please let Heather know you will participate by contacting her at HCJones10@aol.com or 310.367.0270.
